God gave me an extra day of rest
My plan for today was to swim. No weights. Wanted to see if it was the swimming or the weights or the combo of the two that made my back so sore a couple of weeks ago. I decided not to set the alarm clock as I worked til 930 last night. I woke up to the sound of thunder. Dozed off again and thought I might bike instead but still was hearing thunder. Then looked outside and saw the ominous clouds so I decided that I should snooze a little longer, take it easy, and MAYBE swim tonight? I am tired so maybe this is a good thing--a little more rest never hurt anybody, right?

Rest and sleep are very important parts of the training. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Hi Carol-
I have been taking the training easier this week, so I think it's a great idea! It's just no fun to be worn out all the time. This IS supposed to be about having fun, right? And, also keeping the rest of our lives going without having a nervous breakdown. Oh wait, I've already had at least one of those this week...ha!
See ya,
Debra
Carol,
It was great seeing you yesterday morning. As hard as you run, you deserve an extra day of rest. See you Saturday.
Carol,
I concur with Debra. You have to listen to your body. You cannot be blowing and going all of the time. Part of training is getting the proper amount of rest. I just read a good article about over training. Part of it was about getting rest. See you Saturday!

Sometimes I do better the next day when I 'slack off' a little. You have to stay the course, but you do have to slow down sometimes too. Hopefully, I'll get to meet you on Saturday or on one of our runs soon.
